French Figural Soldier/Military Clock. Ref: ws262
French "Spanish Soldier" or European Mercenary Clock.
The clock measures 1ft 6in high,1ft 7in wide and 7.5in deep.
The figure is of an early European fighting man,with comb morion helmet,chain mail body armour,heavey fur skin cloak,sword and shield.The other items depicted on the base are various weapons including ball and chain cannon rounds.
The drum 8 day pendulum movement has countwheel strike on a bell at the hour and half hour.
Probably early 20th Century,of cast spelter construction.
