An 18th Century English Sundial.Ref:wsn925
Of brass/bronze construction,this sundial measures approx 7in
square.It is engraved"N Farrer Fecit   1745   Lat 54 53"
The "53" is very indistinct.
Farrer is not mentioned in Dr.Gloria Clifton's directory,but several people of this name are listed in Baillie and Loomes as clockmakers,mostly Pontefract,Doncaster,York etc.It is possible that one of these characters made sundials or had an engraver as an outworker.
