An English Congreve (Rolling Ball) Fusee Skeleton Clock.Ref ws850.

This example,(made c 7 years ago) measures 1ft 2in high,the base 11in square,including base and glass case.The five glass case is mirror backed.Hardwood base with adjustable brass feet.

The 8 day single fusee movement,of brass and steel construction,is marked on the backplate RWS.Although the main frames and final consruction are entirely English,the going train is German.The rolling ball tray tilts every 12 seconds.

Not renowned for their timekeeping,these fascinating clocks are nevertheless a visual pleasure for the mechanically minded.
